Clearing Browser Cache

For many browsers, pressing the three keys in combination and releasing at once will open the "Clear Cache/Clear History" page for the browser:

  • Command - Shift - Delete
  • Control - Shift - Backspace

 

Google Chrome – To clear your cache on Google Chrome, click the menu icon in the top right corner of the browser. Select History. Click the “Clear browsing data” button. Make sure “Cached images and files” is selected, then click “Clear browsing data.”

Firefox – To clear your cache on Firefox, click the 3 dashes button in the top right corner of the browser. Select Options. Click the Advanced button. Select the Network tab. Under “Cached Web Content”, click Clear Now.

Safari – To clear your cache on Safari, click Safari in the menu bar and select Preferences. Click Privacy. Click Remove All Website Data or click “Details” and remove data per specific websites.

Internet Explorer – To clear your cache on Internet Explorer, click the cog icon in the top right corner of the browser. Under Safety, select Delete Browsing History. Make sure “Temporary Internet files and website files” is checked, then click Delete.

iOS Safari – To clear your cache on an iPad or iPhone version of Safari, go to your Settings app. Scroll down and tap Safari. Scroll down and tap “Clear History and Website Data”. If you prefer, you can remove the cache for only the specific website. Tap Advanced, then Website Data. Here you will see a list of all sites with stored data. Tap edit and tap the red circle next to the site you want to remove data for, then tap Delete.

iOS Chrome – To clear your cache on an iPad or iPhone version of Chrome, go to the Chrome app. Tap the three dots button. Tap Privacy, then Clear Cache.
